At Wild Spirit of Yellowstone Adventures, I believe that God created this amazing earth and we should enjoy every minute that He gives us. We are truly blessed and need to be mindful of our impact as we enjoy His creation. I am committed to minimizing our impact on the environment and my aim is to create a positive impact, both for customers and for the destinations we visit.
A lil about your tour guide...
How this came to be...
After being a top-seller of magazines in 3rd grade, we were given a catalog with prizes to pick from. I chose the National Geographic book of National Parks & was in awe of Yellowstone NP! Later, around the age of 16, I desired to become a tour guide in this amazing place. God had a different plan for my life at the time but 29 yrs later, my daughter & I visited YNP for the 1st time. I was in love, not only with YNP but with everything about Wyoming. Every day we talked about leaving SC and moving to Wyoming. That was in 2021 & in 2023 my Mom was diagnosed with cancer. She went to be with the Lord 6 months later and I was devasted! My heart was shattered. All I wanted and needed to do was to "get out west" where the sky & land opens up and I feel at peace. I needed some healing and the west was the only place for it. We spent 3 weeks just exploring and it was hard to go back to SC.
5 months later, as I was planning our vacation, I saw an ad for "YNP tour guide" job & jokingly, showed it to my daughter. She immediately told me to go for it, to go out west by myself and to finally live my dream. I was hesitant at first but it didn't take much to convince me.
And live it, I did! I drove from SC to Wyoming...boondocking, rockhounding and hiking for 2 weeks, as I made my way to YNP.
After working as a guide for a company in Cody for 2 seasons, I have decided to go out on my own. This park is my passion. Every chance I get, I am in the park watching and studying wildlife & the thermal features on my days off. I can't get enough of it because it is so diverse and amazing...it's so unique that it doesn't seem to belong in this country. My favorite part of doing tours is watching others see this beautiful place for the first time...hearing the "oh wow" or squeals when someone sees their first bison or grizz! It's so exciting & like being here for the first time again.
